Objectives of the Course
Major reforms in biological sciences are taking place and food biochemistry is an important step in these developments. The aim of this lesson is to give knowledge about structure, organization and function of food material and biomolecular structure of foods in food biochemistry course. This lesson is an introduction to food biochemistry and aims to provide the students with a basic knowledge of the chemistry and functions of biological components.

Course Contents
Introduction to biochemistry, structures in biological systems, structure and functions of biomolecules, cell, water, carbohydrates, proteins, nucleic acids, enzymes and hormones, vitamins and hormones are explained in detail.
